How long does a debit card lock?

It depends on the financial institution, but most banks or credit unions will lock a debit card for 24 hours after 3 consecutive failed attempts at using the card. The card can be unlocked after the 24-hour period has passed, and the customer can continue using the card normally.

What happens if your debit card is locked?
