When should I use setting powder?

Setting powder is used after you have applied your foundation, concealer, and/or blush to help lock your makeup in place and give it a longer-lasting finish. It can also help reduce shine and control oil production, so it’s especially beneficial for those with oily skin. To use it, simply apply a thin layer of powder to your face using a brush, then blend it out with either a brush or a beauty sponge. Be sure to use a setting spray after applying your setting powder to help lock your makeup in place throughout the day.

What do you use setting powder for?

Setting powder is used to help set makeup and to reduce shine and oiliness. It’s applied after foundation and concealer, and before blush and other makeup. It helps makeup to stay on longer and can help to blur the appearance of pores and wrinkles. Setting powder also helps to absorb excess oils in the skin, providing a matte finish. It comes in both translucent and colored forms, and can be applied with either a brush or a sponge.

Does setting powder go on before or after blush?

Setting powder should always be applied after blush. Before applying setting powder, use a brush to apply blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend the color outward. Then, use a powder brush to apply setting powder all over your face. This will help seal in the blush color and prevent it from fading throughout the day.
