Can you mix retinol and CeraVe?

It is generally not recommended to mix retinol and CeraVe, as retinol is a powerful ingredient that can be irritating to the skin and can cause redness and dryness. CeraVe, on the other hand, is a gentle, non-irritating moisturizer that is suitable for sensitive skin. If you are using both products, it is best to use them at different times of the day and to avoid mixing them together.

What should you not mix with retinol?

Retinol is an extremely active ingredient in many skin care products, and it should not be mixed with other active ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, alpha hydroxy acids, or vitamin C. Retinol can be combined with moisturizers and other non-active ingredients, but mixing it with other active ingredients can cause irritation and other skin issues. It is important to always follow instructions when using retinol and to talk to a dermatologist if you are unsure.

How much retinol do you use with CeraVe?

For optimal results, it is recommended to use a retinol-containing product such as CeraVe Renewing SA Cream or CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum with a concentration of 0.3% or higher. It is important to start slowly and gradually increase the use of retinol to allow your skin to adjust to the product and avoid irritation. It is recommended to use retinol every other night at first, gradually increasing as tolerated up to once a day. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product label.
