What protein can the body absorb at once?

The amount of protein that the body can absorb at once depends on the type of protein and the individual’s metabolic state. The body can absorb about 10-35 grams of high-quality protein at once, with higher amounts being absorbed in individuals who are in a fasted state. Protein sources like whey, casein, and egg whites are quickly absorbed and are ideal for post-workout consumption. Plant-based proteins, such as soy, pea, and hemp, are also quickly absorbed but may not provide the same quality of amino acids as animal proteins.
