Why is CeraVe making me break out?

CeraVe is a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser, so it’s unlikely that it would be the cause of your breakouts. It is possible, however, that the cleanser may be irritating your skin, leading to breakouts. To reduce the chance of breakouts, try using a non-comedogenic moisturizer after cleansing with CeraVe and avoiding harsh ingredients, such as alcohol and fragrances. Additionally, try to avoid touching your face unnecessarily, as this can spread bacteria and cause breakouts.

Can CeraVe cause breakouts?

CeraVe is a line of skin care products designed to help reduce signs of aging and to help improve skin hydration. While its ingredients are generally considered safe, some people may experience side effects such as breakouts, redness, and irritation. If you experience any of these side effects while using CeraVe, it is recommended that you stop using the product and consult a dermatologist or other health care professional.

How long does CeraVe purging last?

CeraVe purging usually lasts between 1-4 weeks depending on the severity of your skin condition. During this time, it is important to use gentle cleansers and moisturizers to prevent further irritation. You may also experience redness, dryness, and flaking, but these should subside after the purging is complete. It is important to note that if the purging persists for more than 4 weeks, you should consult a doctor.
