Why is Crest banned in Europe?

Crest toothpaste has been banned in Europe due to its active ingredient, triclosan, which is known to disrupt hormones, cause skin irritation, and potentially contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The European Union has also banned the use of triclosan in consumer products due to its potential health risks. The ban applies to all Crest toothpaste products containing triclosan, and the only Crest toothpaste currently allowed in Europe is Crest 3D White Brilliance.

The MHRA is the UK government agency responsible for regulating medicines and medical devices. Crest is approved in other countries, such as the United States, but it has not been approved for sale in the UK.

Why is Crest not sold in Europe?

Crest is not available in Europe because the company has not yet received approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to market the product. The EMA requires companies to submit clinical trials and other evidence that the product is safe and effective, and Crest has yet to complete this process. As a result, Crest is not available for sale in Europe.
