How do you use squalane oil?

Do you put squalane oil on before or after moisturizer?

If you are using squalane oil and a thick occlusive moisturizer definitely apply squalane oil first. Because of the molecular structure of the ingredient, you would want it to penetrate the skin with minimal obstruction. Then add your moisturizer over top, only do this if you have really dry and dehydrated skin.

How do you use ordinary squalane oil?

The Ordinary Squalane can be used in the morning and or evening on its own or after your water-based products but before heavy creams. Some people apply their oils last, but Deciem says to apply before heavy creams. Squalane is amazing for any dry areas on the body and fabulous for dry lips.

When should I use squalane oil?

Squalane is safe to use every day, in both your day and nighttime routine. If you're using it on its own, it should be applied before your sunscreen in the AM, and as the last step in your PM routine. You can also add it to your moisturizer if you need a hydration boost.

Can squalane be used everyday?

There's no lower age limit on when you can start using squalane, and it can be used daily. If you're struggling with dry, dull skin, look for products that list squalane as a hero ingredient. You can also apply pure squalane oil directly to your face, after water-based treatments and before moisturiser.

Do I need moisturizer after squalane?

Light oils (jojoba, squalane, avocado, almond, apricot, argan) mimic the texture of sebum, help rebuild the lipid layer, and absorb into skin fast. These are fine to be applied before moisturiser so long as you're not using a super light moisturiser (more on how to spot those in a bit).

Can I replace moisturizer with squalane oil?

Moisturizers and face oils are not interchangeable. You cannot use oil in place of moisturizer because oils are too heavy for the skin. They will make your face oily and greasy, which is something you definitely want to avoid as it will make your skin look worse than ever.
