Does vinegar disinfect poop?

Vinegar is not a recommended disinfectant for poop. While it may kill some bacteria and viruses, it is not effective against the most common pathogens, such as E. coli, Salmonella, and other fecal-borne pathogens. Instead, the CDC recommends the use of a diluted bleach solution for disinfecting surfaces that may have been contaminated by poop. To make the solution, mix 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) of bleach per gallon of water and let the solution sit on the surface for at least 5 minutes before wiping it away.
