These addresses are typically composed of a service member’s last name, followed by the service member’s unit and/or installation name, followed by an APO/FPO/DPO address and a 9-digit zip code. A valid military address consists of a service member’s rank, full name, unit and APO/FPO/DPO address with the nine-digit ZIP Code™. For example:

To write your military address, you should include the following information: your name, your unit and APO/FPO/DPO (Air/Army Post Office, Fleet Post Office, or Diplomatic Post Office) address, your nine-digit ZIP Code, and your country.
