Who should not use omega-3?

Omega-3 fatty acids are considered generally safe for most people, however there are some people who should not take omega-3 supplements or consume omega-3 rich foods. People who are taking anticoagulants, such as warfarin or coumadin, should not take omega-3 supplements as they may increase the risk of bleeding. Additionally, people with liver disease should not take omega-3 supplements as they may increase the risk of liver problems. Finally, pregnant women should not take omega-3 supplements as they may increase the risk of pre-term birth.
