Do you water basil from the top or bottom?

Generally, it is best to water basil from the bottom. You can do this by placing the pot in a few inches of water for about 30 minutes, and allowing the plant to absorb the water up through its roots. Alternatively, you can also water basil from the top, making sure to water the soil around the stem and not directly on the leaves. Be sure to water your basil deeply and thoroughly, but do not saturate the soil, as this can lead to root rot and other issues.

How do you water potted basil?

Watering potted basil is relatively easy. The key is to make sure the soil is consistently moist, but not soggy. You can do this by watering your potted basil plants thoroughly, until you see water come out the bottom of the pot. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. You should also ensure that the pot has good drainage. If the water doesn’t drain well, the roots may become waterlogged and the plant could start to rot.

Should I mist my basil plant?

It is generally recommended to mist your basil plant on a regular basis to keep it healthy and hydrated. However, you should avoid misting too often, as this can lead to fungal diseases. It’s best to mist around once a week, but you should adjust this frequency depending on the environment and the size of the plant. Additionally, you should only mist in the morning or evening when the sun is not too hot.
