Is hemp-derived CBD federally legal?

Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in the United States, as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, making hemp-derived CBD federally legal and allowing it to be bought, sold, and transported between states. However, individual states may still have their own regulations regarding hemp-derived CBD, so it is important to check your local laws before buying or using it.

What CBD brands are FDA approved?

Currently, there are no CBD brands that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA has only approved one CBD-based medication, Epidiolex, which is used to treat two rare and severe forms of epilepsy. However, many CBD products are available for purchase and are labeled as dietary supplements. It is important to note that these products have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety and efficacy, and users should talk to their doctor before using any CBD product.

Does CBD have to be FDA approved?

The FDA does not currently approve any products containing CBD for medical use. However, the FDA has approved one CBD-based medication, called Epidiolex, to treat certain types of epilepsy. Additionally, the FDA has approved several clinical trials to study the potential benefits of CBD for other medical conditions.
