Does eating nutritional yeast cause Candida?

Eating nutritional yeast is not known to cause Candida. Candida is a type of yeast infection caused by an overgrowth of a type of fungus called Candida albicans. While nutritional yeast is a source of dietary B vitamins, it does not contain live yeast, which means it does not contribute to an overgrowth of Candida, nor does it cause a yeast infection. However, if you have a weakened immune system or are taking antibiotics, you should still consult with your doctor before consuming nutritional yeast, as it can still cause an imbalance in your gut microbiome.

Can you eat nutritional yeast on the candida diet?

Nutritional yeast is not recommended to be consumed on the Candida diet, as it can contain large amounts of sugar. Additionally, nutritional yeast is known to contain the yeast candida albicans, which can worsen existing Candida overgrowth. To help reduce Candida overgrowth, it is recommended to follow a diet low in sugar and carbohydrates, as well as avoiding foods that contain yeast and mold.
