How do I remove a credit card from my Apple account?

Removing a credit card from your Apple account requires you to sign in to your Apple ID account page. Once you’re signed in, select ‘Payment & Shipping’ from the menu. On the Payment & Shipping page, select ‘Edit’ beside the credit card you want to remove. On the edit page, select ‘Remove this Credit Card’ and confirm the removal. Once you have removed the credit card, it will no longer be associated with your Apple account.

Why can’t I remove payment method from Apple ID?

You may not be able to remove payment methods from your Apple ID if it is the only payment method associated with the account, or if the payment method you are trying to remove is the one used for your Apple services, such as Apple Music or iCloud storage. To remove a payment method, you must first add a different payment method to your Apple ID. You can do this by going to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Payment Information. Once a new payment method is added, you can then go back to the Payment Information screen and select the payment method you want to remove.

It is not possible to remove a credit card from an iPhone if it was previously used for a purchase, subscription, or iCloud storage. The only way to remove a credit card from an iPhone is to contact the card issuer and ask them to remove it from the account. Additionally, you can contact Apple Support and ask them to try and remove the card from the Apple ID.
